Dave Hintz, the passionate founder of Hides for Heroes, recently shared a heartwarming story that exemplifies the spirit of giving in our community. Alex Loehrke, a senior at Weyauwega High School and the youngest of four, has been part of Hides for Heroes since its inception. Alongside his siblings, Alex has been collecting deer hides to support wounded veterans at Camp Hackett in Phillips, WI, providing outdoor adventures for Purple Heart recipients.

This week, Alex contributed an incredible 105 hides! Dave praised Alex’s dedication, calling him "a hero" for his unwavering support. Hides for Heroes has grown tremendously since its humble beginnings, raising $186,000 to date for veterans and local causes.
A special thank you to Alex, his family, and everyone in the community who makes this mission possible. Your kindness and commitment make a lasting impact on the lives of our heroes. 🇺🇸💜
